Watermark Your Photo

So you want to put your photos on the web however you don't want
everyone and his dog downloading them for free because you are
trying to make a living. To do this begin by making yourself a new
file for your watermarked images so they will not get confused
with your originals.
Step 1. Open the photo
you want to work with.
Step 2. On the main toolbar
to the left go down to the
rectangle tool (Arrow A).
Click on the small black
triangle in the lower right
corner until you see the
other tools in this group.
Within that group, scroll
down and select the
"Custom Shape Tool"
(Arrow B).
Step 3. Make sure your
foreground color is dark
(Arrow A).
When you select the
"Custom Shape Tool"
(Arrow B) it will open
several new tool across
the top of the page.
Click on the word "Shape"
to open a large selection of
predefined shapes. Scroll
down and select the
copyright symbol.
(Arrow C).
Step 4. Once you click
and drag that symbol onto
your photo (Arrow A),
change to the "Move
Tool" (Arrow B).
This will create a box
with multiple handles
(Arrow C) around the
symbol that will allow you
to push, pull, rotate, shrink
or enlarge the image.
Step 5. Open the
"Layers Dialog Box" and
go up to the word
"Opacity". (Arrow A)
Click on the small blue
triangle to reveal the
slider bar.
Adjust the opacity level
of the symbol so that it
is obvious yet the photo
can still be seen clearly.
This will vary depending
on how dark your photo
is. (Arrow B)
Step 6. Go to the
word "Layer" across
the top menu, then
down to "flatten image"
before you save.
When you do save,
use the "Save As"
feature so you can
save this photo with
it's own name.
